Located in Fairview, NC, about 8 miles South Southeast of Asheville Outaways Forge is a part of a growing group of artists and craftspeople calling our little community Home.

Most of my work is utilitarian, having purpose as working tools or household items, but now and then a strictly “fun” piece like my “Gold” fish will sneak in.

Many people can appreciate the time and effort that goes into making a hand forged item brought to life from the coal forge and hammer.

I am a member of the Foothills of The Carolinas Blacksmith Guild (thefcbg.org) in Tryon, NC, and have just completed a week long blacksmithing course at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. (folkschool.org)

  1. I am impressed with your site. My great grandfather had a coal fired kiln on the farm shop, now gone over 60 years ago but I was just a young kid remembering what it looked like, had a rotating stone for sharpening implements, a heavy anvil where he made horse shoes and his own square headed nails among other items.

  2. I would like to purchase the 60″ square tube campfire tripod.

    • Thank you for your interest in my tripod.

Please send me your address so I can give you a quote on shipping.
